Privacy
This website is operated by VocaBound LLC. It collects an email address when you join the development waitlist. The contact form also collects your name, email address, topic, and message so we can reply. We use those details only for those purposes and do not sell them.
Waitlist emails are stored until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove them. Contact messages are kept long enough to respond and follow up, then deleted or archived as needed for our records. Data is stored with our hosting and database providers used to run this site.
Waitlist messages will include a way to unsubscribe when we begin sending them. You can also remove your address anytime on this site. If you preorder, we use the email you checked out with to send emails about your order — a confirmation, early access if your edition includes it, and release — even if you’ve unsubscribed from waitlist updates. We only send news and offers to people who ask for them — on the waitlist, with the box on the beta form, or by choosing “Yes, send me news” at checkout. Every one has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing stops all of them. Contact form submissions are for replies only — we do not add those addresses to the waitlist unless you also sign up.
To understand how the site is used, we record which pages are visited, which links and buttons are clicked, how far pages are scrolled, how long they’re open, and roughly where visits come from (the referring website and country). This runs on our own servers and on Cloudflare Web Analytics. It does not use cookies, does not store your IP address, does not follow you across other websites, and is not used for advertising — visits are counted with an anonymous code that changes every day. It is turned off for visitors in the European Union, the UK and Switzerland, and for browsers that send a Global Privacy Control signal.
When you send us something — joining the waitlist, applying to the beta, sending a message, preordering or donating — we save that visit’s anonymous code with what you sent. That lets us see how you found the site and which pages you looked at before sending it, so we can learn what’s working. It only covers that one visit, isn’t shared with anyone, and isn’t used for advertising. When tracking is off for you (see above), nothing is linked.
If you apply to be a beta tester, we keep your name, email, how much Mandarin you know, what you’d play on and anything you tell us, so we can choose testers and send invites. We only add you to the weekly update if you check that box.
If you donate, Stripe processes the payment and we keep the email you checked out with, the amount, and — only if you choose to be listed — the name and message you give us for the supporter wall. We use your email to send a thank-you, to link the game edition to it if your donation includes one, and to handle any refund. Donations to VocaBound LLC are not tax-deductible.
VocaBound: Worlds is aimed at language learners and educators. This marketing site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.
To ask about data we hold, request removal, or ask a privacy question, email hello@vocabound.tech or use the contact form with the email address you used. This page may be updated as the site changes.
